Mix the flour, rolled oats, baking powder, ground ginger, margarine and sugar together until the mixture resembles crumbs. Add the syrup and continue mixing until the ingredients come together as a stiff dough.
Turn the mixture out onto a floured surface. Form into a roll approximately 9cm (3.5in) in diameter and slice into 8.
Place the cookies on a greased tray and bake in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes until pale brown. Do not overcook.
